we had decided on a space background as it represent the name of the album "Daises of the Galaxy", So we decided to use a purple cosmos as a way of showing pretty, appealing colours to show a happy atmosphere but mixed with black to connote a darker side, such as the idea our video invokes in the audience watching it. So we represented the target audience by doing this as the irony of happy colours in a dark atmosphere appeals to the target audience but the signifier of the happy colours masking the dark atmosphere is the real winner in terms of gaining an audience as most people of our target audience being the age of 14 - 21 will use music as a way of dealing with their problems and love to identify with the music or the artist which our digipak enables due to the masking connotation.
the next stage is to fill in the digipak, we decided to place the earth on the front cover with daisy petals around it and on the back place the petals leaving the flower and falling through the void of space, this was designed to say the happiness on the front is a mask or indeed a "cover" as a double entendre, to hide the misery that's behind it, hence the petals floating through the empty void of space.
The disk space was a big daisy, again to reinforce the album title.
The inside was a tribute to the video we made as we have stills of the video. A bar code and parental advisory warning had to be placed into the digipak to add to the realism of the digipak.
We then added the tracks album and artist name and legal stuff on the back so we have finished to digipak, the purple font is to go with the background and follow the purple connotations of happy colour sad atmosphere. The Font also follows this connotation.
